The drinks were flowing, sequin gowns were sparkling, and perfectly carved ice took centre stage on every table.
Yes, it is that time of year again. The Inspire Business Awards 2017, the evening we eagerly countdown to every year was back in full force last night!
We’re only getting bigger.
While we happily fell into our regular role of New Business Of The Year sponsors and on the night official tweeters, this year’s ceremony was different. Not only were we delighted to see Destination Basingstoke’s hard work pull together beautifully, or our wonderful clients receiving the recognition they rightfully deserve, we were also celebrating some of our victories.
In previous years we have invited some of our lovely clients and friends to join us for the evening, this year our table was overflowing with team TFG! The Inspire Business Awards is a time where we often find ourselves reflecting on the year behind us, and what a great year it has been.
We recently welcomed Jude, a senior communications executive with previous experience in the charity sector from Battersea to MacMillan. Also joining us for the evening was Jenya, our new, super talented, design lead as of January! Stay tuned, you will find out more about her in the new year.
Of course, we can’t forget our very special guest, Miranda from Rocket Launch PR, who joined us and provided many laughs across the table!
Now, with a team of talented, passionate and pretty impressive creatives, here at TFG we can confidently say that 2018 can only get better.
Mind reader (and we’d say comedian), Alex The Mindreader (that is his actual name) was a great warm up for the evening and blew us all away when he read Jude’s mind on stage.. see Twitter for photographic evidence.
We were also taken aback by this year’s chosen charity, Heartburn Cancer UK and their incredibly articulate speech from Tim Underwood alongside sports star, (and another comedian in the making!) David Flatman. It opened our eyes to the charity, and we believe it is vital to shine a spotlight on their work this year and for many years to come.
Special shoutouts & high-fives
From the team here at The Typeface Group, we would like to say a massive thank you and well done to Destination Basingstoke and all of the sponsors of the Inspire Business Awards 2017, because without them this event simply wouldn’t happen.
Also, huge congratulations to all the finalists and winners, including some of our clientele & contacts!
We are extremely proud of James at Connective Chiropractic for scooping up New Business Of The Year award. Keeping that one tight-lipped for two months also deserves an award so well done Polly! Our inspiring friends at Driven International won International Business Of The Year for their fantastic work across the globe. And finally, a special shoutout goes to iWaste. After three years of entering the small business of the year, they took the title. Congratulations Sam, Sam and the team!
Here’s to next year!
Each year the awards encourage us to be proud of our local businesses. Whether they are big, small or international. We should all take pride in our success and welcome the new year with open arms. The Typeface Group are honoured to share Hampshire with you.
