Happy Christmas from team typeface
What a busy 365 days it has been for The Typeface Group. It’s been a whirlwind of new clients, developing marketing for existing clients, large-scale projects and a reason or two to celebrate. We have loved every minute of it and we’re so excited to see what 2019 has in store.
Here’s just a little look back at some of the highlights which have made 2018 truly special.
Spreading the Indie love
As the summer sun shone, we took to the streets of Winchester to love the local and independent shops and businesses which fill the city. In partnership with Winchester BID, we launched an Indie Trail which took people on a fun escapade throughout the city calling into some of its best-loved venues along the way. We launched new branding and design to run alongside it. We designed and built a bespoke pop-up shop called 1 Independent Street to launch the venture. We also supported Winchester’s ever-popular independents market. Residents and visitors to Winchester loved it just as much as we did, with social media set alight and stories filling local media. We hope that Winchester’s independents have continued to enjoy this celebration of renewed support as the year continued.
Bringing Basingstoke together
The majority of the Typeface team are born and bred here in Basingstoke. So, we jumped at the chance to work with Basingstoke Together, the public face of the Basingstoke BID. We have been supporting their efforts to promote the town as a vibrant shopping and leisure destination. We looked after branding, print design and PR for a variety of events in the town centre including the popular Exit6 Film Festival and family sports event, Be Active. Basingstoke has so much to offer to residents and visitors with a whole host of big brands alongside independents in the centre, especially at the Top of Town. It’s been great to tell the world about this in a variety of ways to give Basingstoke the boost that it deserves.
We have had some real reasons to celebrate this year. Firstly, the Typeface team donned their glad rags for the UK Blog Awards 2018. We were nominated in the Business PR, Marketing, Comms and Media category – and we beat national competition to bring the award home. Not only that but Managing Director Polly and Director Natalie were selected to be judges for the same category for the UK Blog Awards 2019. So, watch this space for all of the gossip and excitement as it all gets underway in preparation for next year’s ceremony in April.
As if that wasn’t enough, Polly was then back in the spotlight in November to collect a Variety Catherine Award for Women’s Empowerment in the Workplace. This is the second national award that the Typeface team have been able to add to an ever-growing collection. This time, the award recognised the company’s commitment to flexible working, positive work-life balance and strong emotional wellbeing for the team.
New additions to the family
The Typeface team grew this year as Senior Design Executive Jenya joined us in January. Since then, she has worked hard on website design for a host of clients including PLM, Beauty Falls by Paris and Pelican Air Charter. Her natural flair for design and knowledge of the technical aspects of web design made her a natural choice for the Typeface team.
Our photographer Grace has also had a busy year as she gave birth to her second child, Stanley. He’s a beautiful little bundle who is already proving to be a great model as Grace keeps up her skills behind the lens, in preparation for her return to the office in the new year.
With all of that under our belts, The Typeface Group are taking a well-deserved break over the Christmas holidays. So, the office will be closed from Friday 21st December until Wednesday 2 January.
We can’t wait to get started in 2019. We have so much in store including our creative partnership with Winchester Cocktail Week, judging for the UK Blog Awards 2019 and working with both new and existing clients to achieve their marketing goals.
